Welcome to The Lemming, an independent, anti-profit mag where collective action, art, politics and commentary collide. Founded on the principles of collaboration and a DIY ethos, The Lemming is dedicated to providing a space for thought-provoking, and unfiltered perspectives on the pressing social and political issues of our time.

Our process is a labour of love, committed to a DIY approach of printing physical copies on RISO and hand-binding them ourselves; ever embracing rough edges. We are anti-profit, with all proceeds going back into printing the next issue and paying our contributing artists & writers a fair commission. Born in 2020 from a desire to create something that questioned conventional narratives & having fun doing it, each issue pulls together a diverse mix of essays, poems, and illustrations that seek to tickle & provoke, with a critical eye and a commitment to pushing the envelope. Collaborative to the point of fault, The Lemming is made up of a core team of writers and illustrators, with a cast of independent contributors every issue who we are incredibly lucky to work with. We operate on a flat structure, meaning each team member contributes, edits, discusses and vetoes, collectively sharing responsibility, decisions and creative direction. We believe in holding candour and expression over perfection, against the sound or sanitised, producing content that reflects the energy & spirit of all those involved.
