Political thought pieces, journalism, satire, short stories, art & culture, poetry, historical musings, interviews, reviews, essays on the weird & wonderful and more are all welcome.

We recommend reading the magazine prior to pitching to get a feel for what we are all about- our most recent issue is available on this website now and you can order the print versions in our online shop.

We are open to first-time writers as well as the more experienced, and each contributor will receive a small fee.

We will let you know if your pitch has been successful as soon as possible after the deadline to give you as much time to write as possible!

A bit about yourself

Tell us a little bit about you- just a sentence or two describing who you are, your writing and interests, any projects you've been involved with, and anything else you think would be good to hear!

A working title for your piece

This doesn't have to be anything final, it's just to give us an idea

Your pitch

The pitch should be no more than 200 words. It should include the main points and ideas and a rough outline of your article. We will then get back to you with thoughts, ideas and opinions on the piece and its direction

The main scoop

One sentence (and only one!) summing up your angle or argument. Imagine you are writing a short intro or blurb for your piece, what would it be?

Rough word count

Again, this doesn't have to be final, just to give us a rough idea. It can be anywhere between 500-1500 words. Please don't feel pressure to write up to the limit as we find it works to have a variety of different sized articles
